We are pleased to report that Hornsey Historical Society has won two prestigious awards from LAMAS (London and Middlesex Archaeological Society). The awards were presented at the 59th Local History Conference, held by LAMAS at the Museum of London Docklands on 15th November 2025. John Price, Chair of LAMAS Local History Committee, presented the awards.

The award for Best Local History Journal of 2024 went to HHS Bulletin 65, edited by Sandra Clark. The award for Best Local History Book of 2024 went to Abyssinia: Hornsey’s Lost Village, by Hugh Flouch. We are grateful to HHS volunteers Niall and Hugh for receiving the awards.

You can purchase both the Bulletin and Abyssinia at the Old School House on Tottenham Lane. We are open between 10.00am and 2.00pm on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as the first and third Saturday each month 10.30am to 2.30pm.
About the Bulletin
The current issue of the Bulletin is free to all members. If you aren’t a member and would like to join, you can find details on the Membership Page. As well as the Bulletin, members also receive our quarterly newsletters and free entry to all of our monthly lectures. You can view all of our past issues here.
Write for the Bulletin
We welcome contributions to the Bulletin from interested authors, who do not need to be members of the Society. Articles for inclusion should be concerned with Hornsey, its residents and its history. A length of about 2-3000 words is suggested, but shorter pieces such as letters or reviews of books about local history can be accepted. If you would like to contribute please get in touch with Sandra Clark via INFO (see contacts page).
