The Roman Kilns of Highgate Wood – Guided Walk

The Friends of Highgate Roman Kiln have organised an exciting, guided walk in Highgate Wood.

It will be an opportunity to:

• See the 2nd Century CE Roman kiln on show in the Wood (probably the only Roman pottery kiln on display in England).
• Visit the full-size replica kiln which will be fired again this September
• Explore the site where the Roman-era potters built and fired a series of kilns for over 100 years or so.
• Discuss the latest thinking about the Roman kilns and potters.
• Handle Roman pottery sherds found in the Wood.

Meet by the Information Centre log cabin by the playing field, Highgate Wood.
