‘Our Side of the Bridge: A History of the Streets in the Whitehall Park Conservation Area’ is the latest Hornsey Historical Society publication.

This book tells the story of how a steep hillside south of Hornsey Lane became what is now the Whitehall Park Conservation area.
Using extensive archival sources, historian David Seton – who lived in the locality for many years -traces the area’s evolution from a patchwork of fields in the 1600s to the distinctive tree-lined terraced streets that largely define the neighbourhood today.
‘Our Side of the Bridge’ is 52 pages long and fully illustrated and will be available to purchase for £10. We expect to begin sale of this book in early February 2026. Further details will be available on our website.
