An illustrated talk exploring the long and murky history of why the Haringey / Harringay / Hornsey name has had so many spellings and continues to cause confusion today.

About the Speaker

Hugh, a member of the Hornsey Historical Society’s Publications Committee has been a prolific writer and is a published author on the history of Hornsey and Wood Green. A keen researcher into the less illuminated corners of the area’s history, he has been exploring the toponymical history of the area for twenty years.
