About the author

Janet Owen has lived in Hornsey all her working life, spent in London schools as a teacher and schools inspector and adviser. She joined the HHS in 1981 and is currently HHS Publications Manager and a member of the General Committee. Janet has written several HHS Bulletin articles and two books, one with John Hinshelwood.
