Heritage Visit to St Philip The Apostle Church

5th August 2022 @ 10:30 am

Come along and explore the history and beautiful Edwardian interiors of St Philip The Apostle, in Philip Lane N15 at a visit organised by Bruce Castle Museum.

Designed by the prolific church architects J.P & J.E.K. Cutts and built by the Dove Brothers of north London, you will also see the exquisite stained glass window by William Morris & Co (installed 1926), showing the Magi/Three Wise Men bringing gifts to the infant Jesus. The window was based on a popular design that was originally created by Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones with input by William Morris. You can read a little more from the local newspaper about when the church opened in 1906 on the Haringey Stones website.

Meet staff from Bruce Castle Museum & Archive at the church at 10.30am (corner of Clonmell Road and Philip Lane, N15 4HJ).

We are grateful to Father Lee Clark for very kindly arranging this visit for us.
