Local historian Ruth Hazeldine talks about Highgate’s connection with gin through Felix Booth and William Hogarth.

Felix Booth of the Booth gin distilling family lived in Crouch Hall, Crouch End and William Hogarth was so appalled after witnessing drunken revellers reeling out of The Flask in Highgate, that it inspired him to make his famous engraving of “Gin Lane.”

Entry by ticket from Eventbrite.  Highgate Society members £5.00 + £0.98 booking fee / Non-members £7.50 + £1.18 booking fee.
